Lisboa, 06 jan 2022 (Ecclesia) – A tradição de cantar os Reis, evocando o nascimento do Menino Jesus e levando desejos para o novo ano, está limitada este ano devido à pandemia, mas há grupos que se “reinventaram” para que a “música e a alegria” possam chegar a todos.
“Desde garotita que já ouvia cantar por aqui e é uma tradição que queremos manter para nos dar ânimo para o novo ano”, explica Maria do Rosário Oliveira em declarações à Agência ECCLESIA.
Atualmente com 71 anos a habitante da freguesia da Faia, na diocese da Guarda, refere que estes dias são para “cantar os Reis ou as Janeiras”, levando as vozes e alegria mais longe e anunciando o nascimento do Menino que traz “paz e bênçãos”.
Ao grupo de “Cantares da Faia” juntam-se outros paroquianos para cantar e Maria do Rosário não esconde o orgulho de percorrer a aldeia, realidade que este ano não aconteceu.
“Nos outros anos íamos pela aldeia a cantar, porta a porta, dedicando as nossas quadras a todos, chegámos até a ser convidados para cantar também no Teatro Municipal da Guarda, no Museu, na Prisão, uma experiência muito marcante, e na Biblioteca, mas, este ano ficámos pela escadaria na praça”, lamenta.
Devido às limitações impostas pela pandemia os cantares das Boas Festas só se ouviram no dia de Ano Novo, na escadaria da aldeia, “onde as vozes tremiam de frio, mas cantaram”.

Liliana Brás Santos é uma das mais jovens habitantes da Faia, com 38 anos, atualmente presidente da Junta de Freguesia, e junta-se ao grupo para “incentivar a não perder esta tradição”.
“Foi um momento muito bonito que quisemos fazer para que chegasse a todos, já que não era possível ir porta a porta, trouxeram mantas de farrapos, e as laranjas e figos secos, que seria o que davam no cantar das janeiras, e na escadaria desejaram boas festas, filmámos para colocar online e chegar a mais pessoas”, explica.

Já na diocese de Bragança-Miranda, a congregação dos Marianos da Imaculada Conceição, do Convento de Balsamão, também não saiu à rua para cantar os Reis, mas, como no ano passado, decidiram gravar os cantares e transmitir online ao longo do mês de janeiro.
“Queremos anunciar à semelhança dos pastores, o segundo objetivo é cantar bem e com alegria, com instrumentos bem afinados e boas vozes, se possível, para oferecer aos que nos ouvem algo que valha a pena ouvir e que toque os corações e o terceiro objetivo é a angariação de fundos para uma causa comum, as recentes obras de restauro da Igreja de Balsamão”, explica na página online o padre Basileu Pires.
A cada noite fica online o cantar dos Reis numa “igreja diferente”, em cada aldeia da unidade pastoral da Divina Misericórdia.

Sem medo do frio e com todas as precauções e medidas de segurança, o Agrupamento de Escuteiros 961 de Fornelos-Fafe, na arquidiocese de Braga, sai à rua para cantar os Reis.
“Esta é uma importante fonte de angariação de fundos do agrupamento que, a cada ano, vai pelas ruas da freguesia e pelo comércio local com cantares a desejar boas festas e bom Ano Novo”, conta Bruno Barros à Agência ECCLESIA.
O dirigente explica que também todos os anos marcam presença no lar de idosos da freguesia, “sendo impossível este ano”, e que têm de “recusar os convites de entrar nas casas e confraternizar”.
A viola, a concertina, a pandeireta e o tambor acompanham as vozes do grupo, composto por Exploradores, Pioneiros, Caminheiros e Chefes, que “há três anos lançaram o desafio de levar músicas originais” para estas noites.
“Surgiu a ideia de lançar o desafio dos jovens escreverem originais para cantarmos, uma forma de se motivarem e integrarem nesta tradição, e temos alguns cantares muito ritmados que as pessoas gostam de ouvir”, recorda o dirigente.
No fim do mês de janeiro o Agrupamento de Escuteiros 961 de Fornelos-Fafe celebra 40 anos de fundação e Bruno Barros aponta que a “cada noite levam outro ânimo nos desejos” e esperam conseguir celebrar o aniversário com “as promessas e um acampamento”.

A Juventude Operária Católica (JOC) de Aveiro, grupos de Cacia e Valongo do Vouga, também não quis que a “grande tradição” de desejar as boas festas não acontecesse e por isso organizou-se “com todas as regras de segurança”.
“Cantamos na rua, sempre de máscara e afastados, e, com pena nossa, temos de recusar os convites de entrar nas casas das pessoas e até é difícil dizer que não”, afirma João Ramos, membro da JOC de Cacia, em declarações à Agência ECCLESIA.
Além dos seus cantares e desejos de boas festas os dois grupos da JOC de Aveiro levam “uma mensagem de reflexão da JOC sobre o tempo de Natal”.
“Esta é uma forma de estar com as pessoas, darmo-nos a conhecer, neste tempo de pandemia que é tão difícil chegar às pessoas esta é a oportunidades e temos sido muito bem recebidos”, conta o jovem.
Munidos de guitarra, ukelele, maracas e até castanholas os grupos seguem nas duas freguesias levando músicas como o “Natal dos Simples” ou “As Boas Festas”.

À semelhança do ano passado os jovens da diocese de Viana do Castelo vão desafiar a que os grupos possam cantar as “JORNeiras da Juventude” no dia 23 deste mês de janeiro, no seguimento das atividades propostas para o dia 23 de cada mês como preparação da Jornada Mundial da Juventude Lisboa 2023.
“Como este ano as limitações da pandemia continuam vamos lançar o desafio aos grupos de jovens que inventem formas de chegar a outros, cantando estas jorneiras, e apontando à angariação de fundos para a Jornada Mundial da Juventude Lisboa 2023”, disse o responsável da Pastoral Juvenil Diocesana, padre José Meira.

Há vários séculos que, na noite de 5 para 6 de janeiro, grupos de pessoas saem à rua para cantar, mas também pintar os Reis, no concelho de Alenquer, no patriarcado de Lisboa.
“Grupos de Reiseiros percorrem várias localidades do concelho de Alenquer pintando e cantando às portas das casas os testemunhos e desejos de felicidade e prosperidade para o ano que começa. Estrelas, flores, corações, vasos pintados nas fachadas e muros das casas”, descreve a organização.
“É uma celebração única no nosso país. Muito intimista, quase mística. Há algo intrínseco que motiva estas pessoas. Este ano, por ser a primeira vez que é celebrada após a distinção como Património Cultural Imaterial Nacional, existe uma responsabilidade adicional para todos aqueles que a praticam”, assinala Rui Costa, vereador da Cultura da Câmara Municipal de Alenquer.

Já pela diocese do Algarve, em Alcantarilha, os cantares ao Menino que se prolongavam por toda a noite de Reis, “este ano ficam limitados”, como explicou Tiago Silva à Agência ECCLESIA.
“O ano passado cantámos em direto para as redes sociais, tivemos muitos dos nossos emigrantes a reviver esta tradição e a darem-nos feedback, este ano com as limitações vamos para a rua só marcar a tradição”, apontou o membro do grupo.
Os cantares são originais, que “já passam de geração em geração”, cânticos de Natal, de Janeiras, que “aqui aconteciam na noite de passagem de ano”, e cânticos de Reis.
“Este ano vamos para a rua na noite de Reis, só para marcar a tradição e percorremos algumas ruas, cantando às portas, com todas as medidas de segurança impostas, e sem podermos entrar nas casas”, conta Roberto Cabrita, membro do grupo de cantares de janeiras da Sociedade Recreativa Alcantarilhense.

Na unidade pastoral de Águas Belas, Ferreira do Zêzere, Igreja Nova e Pias, na diocese de Coimbra, a tradição é reunir pessoas para cantar ao Menino, nas várias capelas, mas, à semelhança do ano passado, a iniciativa passou para o digital.
“Era hábito durante todos os anos as nossas paróquias fazerem Cantares ao Menino, não quisemos deixar passar mais um ano sem deixar uma marca deste acontecimento, o Grupo de Jovens Audax promoveu um momento bonito de oração e evangelização”, conta o padre Pedro Luís à Agência ECCLESIA.
Sem conseguirem “andar nas várias capelas” com o Menino, a solução passou por dinamizar um momento de cantares, para “ser colocado online” e para que chegue a outros a “alegria do Natal”.
“Apesar desta pandemia e de todas as limitações não podemos ficar fechados nos muros da Igreja e precisamos levar esta esperança cristã aos que mais precisam”, refere o pároco.
O sacerdote recorda que no ano passado tiveram “muitos feedbacks” de pessoas que não podiam ir à Igreja e confirma que esta tradição é um “incentivo aos jovens” e significa a “ajuda nesta pandemia e o ânimo para dias mais tristes”.
