Set\u00fabal, 24 out 2017 (Ecclesia) \u2013 O bispo de Set\u00fabal, D. Jos\u00e9 Ornelas, vai presidir hoje \u00e0 celebra\u00e7\u00e3o da eucaristia do 30\u00ba dia do falecimento de D. Manuel Martins, primeiro pastor do territ\u00f3rio sadino e depois realiza-se um col\u00f3quio sobre o prelado.<\/p>\n
A igreja de Nossa Senhora da Concei\u00e7\u00e3o, em Set\u00fabal, pelas 20h30, vai acolher a celebra\u00e7\u00e3o e de seguida, no mesmo local, realiza-se um col\u00f3quio sobre D. Manuel Martins, l\u00ea-se no programa enviado \u00e0 Ag\u00eancia ECCLESIA.<\/p>\n
O col\u00f3quio vai ter a participa\u00e7\u00e3o da antiga presidente da C\u00e2mara Municipal de Almada, Maria Em\u00edlia Neto de Sousa e Ant\u00f3nio Soares, membro da Comiss\u00e3o Diocesana Justi\u00e7a e Paz.<\/p>\n
A iniciativa encerra com o bispo diocesano, D. Jos\u00e9 Ornelas.<\/p>\n
O falecido bispo nasceu a 20 de janeiro de 1927, em Le\u00e7a do Balio, concelho de Matosinhos; foi ordenado sacerdote em 1951, ap\u00f3s a forma\u00e7\u00e3o nos semin\u00e1rios do Porto, seguindo-se a frequ\u00eancia do curso de Direito Can\u00f3nico na Universidade Gregoriana, em Roma.<\/p>\n
P\u00e1roco da Cedofeita, no Porto, entre 1960 e 1969, D. Manuel Martins foi nomeado vig\u00e1rio-geral da diocese nortenha em 1969, antes de seguir para Set\u00fabal.<\/p>\n
No dia 23 de abril de 1998, o Papa Jo\u00e3o Paulo II aceitou o seu pedido de resigna\u00e7\u00e3o ao cargo.<\/p>\n
