Porto, 24 abr 2012 (Ecclesia) – A Diocese do Porto assinalou este domingo o 7.º aniversário de eleição de Bento XVI, que teve lugar a 19 de abril de 2005, destacando a importância da figura do Papa “na vida da Igreja e do mundo”.<\/p>\n

D. Pio Alves, bispo auxiliar, presidiu à celebração do ‘Te Deum’ na Sé do Porto, sublinhando “a afirmação inequívoca da insubstituível centralidade de Cristo” no ministério do atual Papa.<\/p>\n

“Bento XVI convida-nos, com o seu exemplo e magistério, a evitar a dispersão e a recentrar-nos no fundamental, melhor, no verdadeiro fundamento que é Jesus Cristo”, indicou o prelado, na homilia<\/a> que proferiu na celebração.<\/p>\n

“O ‘Te Deum’ que hoje celebramos não é – não deve ser – um mero gesto de cortesia eclesial e social, mas um sentido agradecimento a Deus que, nestes tempos difíceis, pôs à frente da sua Igreja um sucessor de Pedro que confessa Cristo e, como bom pastor, cuida incansavelmente do seu rebanho”, prosseguiu.<\/p>\n

A missa pelo início do pontificado<\/a> de Bento XVI decorreu a 24 de abril de 2005.<\/p>\n
