Beja, 10 mai 2025 (Ecclesia) \u2013 O bispo de Beja saudou a elei\u00e7\u00e3o do Papa Le\u00e3o XIV, \u201csinal vis\u00edvel da unidade da Igreja\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cAcolhemos este momento com cora\u00e7\u00e3o jubiloso e esp\u00edrito agradecido, reconhecendo nele a m\u00e3o providente de Deus que nunca abandona o seu povo\u201d, pode ler-se numa nota assinada por D. Fernando Paiva, e publicada no portal da Internet da diocese de Beja.<\/p>\n

O cardeal Robert Francis Prevost, prefeito do Dicast\u00e9rio para os Bispos, foi eleito como Papa, esta quinta-feira, ap\u00f3s dois dias de Conclave, e assumiu o nome de Le\u00e3o XIV.<\/p>\n

O primeiro pont\u00edfice norte-americano, de 69 anos de idade, foi mission\u00e1rio e bispo no Peru, e superior geral da Ordem de Santo Agostinho (Agostinhos).<\/p>\n

Foi celebrada uma missa de \u201ca\u00e7\u00e3o de gra\u00e7as\u201d na S\u00e9 de Beja, esta sexta-feira.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnidos na ora\u00e7\u00e3o e na esperan\u00e7a, sigamos com alegria no caminho da f\u00e9, certos de que o Senhor conduz a sua Igreja com sabedoria e miseric\u00f3rdia\u201d, convida.<\/p>\n

A Missa para a \u201csolene inaugura\u00e7\u00e3o\u201d do pontificado do Papa vai decorrer a 18 de maio, pelas 10h00 (menos uma em Lisboa), na Pra\u00e7a de S\u00e3o Pedro.<\/p>\n
