Ocorreu a 17 de Janeiro o 65\u00ba anivers\u00e1rio da ordena\u00e7\u00e3o sacerdotal de D. Aur\u00e9lio Granada Escudeiro, Bispo Em\u00e9rito de Angra. D. Aur\u00e9lio nasceu a 29 de Maio de 1920, em Alcains, Distrito de Castelo Branco, e foi ordenado sacerdote a 17 de Janeiro de 1943, em Portalegre. A 18 Mar\u00e7o de 1974 foi nomeado Bispo Coadjutor de Angra sem direito a sucess\u00e3o, com o t\u00edtulo de Drusiliana, e, a 30 de Junho de 1979 foi nomeado Bispo residencial de Angra at\u00e9 9 de Abril de 1996, dia em resignou. A17 de Janeiro de 1993 D. Aur\u00e9lio celebrou os 50 anos de ordena\u00e7\u00e3o sacerdotal no mesmo dia em que S\u00e9 Catedral foi de novo sagrada na sequ\u00eancia da reconstru\u00e7\u00e3o do p\u00f3s-sismo; j\u00e1 no s\u00e9culo XIX havia sido sagrada por D. Jos\u00e9 Pegado de Azevedo. Uma sess\u00e3o solene, a 17 de Janeiro de 1993 assinalou tamb\u00e9m as Bodas de Ouro sacerdotais de D. Aur\u00e9lio, no sal\u00e3o de Festas do Semin\u00e1rio Episcopal de Angra. D. Aur\u00e9lio Granada Escudeiro foi o 37\u00ba Bispo da Diocese de Angra e governou-a durante 22 anos como bispo residencial.
