Os pa\u00edses menos desenvolvidos (PMD) est\u00e3o a ficar \u00e0 margem da globaliza\u00e7\u00e3o, vendo decrescer o seu peso no com\u00e9rcio e no investimento a n\u00edvel mundial, segundo as Na\u00e7\u00f5es Unidas (ONU). O alerta foi hoje feito por Harriet Schmidt, do Gabinete do Alto Representante da ONU para os pa\u00edses menos desenvolvidos, numa confer\u00eancia que re\u00fane representantes de perto de 50 PMD, em Istambul, Turquia. “Ao longo dos \u00faltimos 30 anos, a globaliza\u00e7\u00e3o intensificou o com\u00e9rcio, aumentou a produ\u00e7\u00e3o econ\u00f3mica e criou uma riqueza sem precedentes no plano mundial, mas os PMD n\u00e3o chegaram a beneficiar. Esta \u00e9 a triste realidade”, afirmou hoje a respons\u00e1vel da ONU. No seu conjunto estes 50 pa\u00edses representam perto de 12 por cento da popula\u00e7\u00e3o mundial. Segundo os dados hoje apresentados, o peso deste agrupamento no investimento directo estrangeiro a n\u00edvel mundial \u00e9 inferior a dois por cento. Para o Kermal Dervis, que chefia o Programa das Na\u00e7\u00f5es Unidas para o Desenvolvimento, nos \u00faltimos anos os progressos na integra\u00e7\u00e3o econ\u00f3mica dos PMD “foram muito t\u00e9nues, quase nulos”.
