Depois de o Papa ter recebido em audi\u00eancia o Cardeal portugu\u00eas D. Jos\u00e9 Saraiva Martins, prefeito da Congrega\u00e7\u00e3o para a Doutrina da F\u00e9, foi publicada a lista que inclui cat\u00f3licos da \u00c1ustria, It\u00e1lia, Alemanha, Fran\u00e7a, \u00cdndia, Peru, Espanha e Jap\u00e3o. O destaque vai para o jesu\u00edta Kibe Kasui e os seus 187 companheiros, martirizados no Jap\u00e3o, entre 1603 e 1639. Outros 121 m\u00e1rtires da Guerra Civil Espanhola, assassinados em 1936, caminham para os altares. O outro decreto de mart\u00edrio diz respeito ao leigo Francesco J\u00e4gerst\u00e4tter, nascido a 20 de Maio de 1907 na \u00c1ustria e executado a 9 de Agosto de 1943, em Berlim, por se ter recusado a prestar servi\u00e7o militar para o III Reich.
