A Igreja Cat\u00f3lica na It\u00e1lia est\u00e1 a promover uma grande manifesta\u00e7\u00e3o, marcada para o pr\u00f3ximo dia 12 de Maio, com o objectivo de defender a fam\u00edlia. A iniciativa foi convocada por 21 grupos de leigos, ap\u00f3s a pol\u00e9mica criada em volta da legaliza\u00e7\u00e3o das uni\u00f5es de facto, e j\u00e1 recebeu o apoio da Confer\u00eancia Episcopal Italiana (CEI). Para o presidente da CEI, D. Angelo Bagnasco, “a manifesta\u00e7\u00e3o em favor da fam\u00edlia, nascida no cora\u00e7\u00e3o dos leigos, tem todo o apoio e a concord\u00e2ncia dos bispos e pastores, naturalmente”. Este \u201cFamily day\u201d, nome dado \u00e0 manifesta\u00e7\u00e3o, foi anunciado na Solenidade de S\u00e3o Jos\u00e9, Dia do Pai. Para D: Bagnasco, “ser\u00e1 uma grande festa pela fam\u00edlia, da fam\u00edlia, como j\u00e1 foi feito noutros pa\u00edses europeus”.
