A Confer\u00eancia Episcopal da Alemanha est\u00e1 a preparar-se para receber milhares de pessoas durante a realiza\u00e7\u00e3o, no pa\u00eds, do Mundial de Futebol 2006. Assim, entre 9 de Junho e 9 de Julho, as igrejas estar\u00e3o de portas abertas e ir\u00e3o realizar-se visitas guiadas aos adeptos das selec\u00e7\u00f5es participantes, entre as quais a de Portugal, bem como uma s\u00e9rie de iniciativas culturais e de f\u00e9. Segundo o Cardeal Karl Lehmann, presidente do episcopado cat\u00f3lico alem\u00e3o, o objectivo \u00e9 fazer com que \u201cneste grande evento, a hospitalidade seja um sucesso\u201d. A Igreja Cat\u00f3lica no pa\u00eds quer \u201centrar em campo\u201d nas 12 cidades que acolhem o Campeonato do Mundo: Hamburgo, Berlim, Col\u00f3nia, Dortmund, Estugarda, Franckfurt, Gelsenkirchen, Hannover, Kaiserslautern, Lipzig, Munique e Nuermberga). O Cardeal Lehmann lembrou ainda o importante contributo das comunidades cat\u00f3licas de l\u00ednguas diferentes do alem\u00e3o no acolhimento aos visitantes.
