O Papa Bento XVI recebeu ontem em audi\u00eancia, no Pal\u00e1cio do Vaticano, o pr\u00edncipe Alberto II do M\u00f3naco, que h\u00e1 dezasseis dias foi entronizado como novo soberano do seu pa\u00eds. O encontro privado entre o Papa e o Pr\u00edncipe, que levou consigo seis pessoas, teve lugar na biblioteca pontif\u00edcia e durou cerca de quinze minutos. O novo soberano manteve tamb\u00e9m um encontro com o cardeal Angel Sodano, secret\u00e1rio de Estado do Vaticano. Desceu depois \u00e0s grutas vaticanas para prestar homenagem ao Papa Jo\u00e3o Paulo II. Entregou a Bento XVI uma escultura em bronze da padroeira do principado do M\u00f3naco e da fam\u00edlia Grimaldi, recebendo em troca as medalhas do pontificado. Alberto e Bento XVI encontraram-se brevemente no dia 24 de Abril durante a missa do in\u00edcio do pontificado.
