E foi convidado a visitar Jerusal\u00e9m Bento XVI recebeu esta manh\u00e3 Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen), o presidente da Autoridade Nacional Palestiniana (ANP), que o convidou a visitar \u201cJerusal\u00e9m e todos os lugares santos\u201d. Abu Mazen ofereceu ao Papa um passaporte emitido pela ANP dirigido de modo gen\u00e9rico a \u201cVatican City State\u201d, como convite particular para visitar a cidade de Bel\u00e9m. O l\u00edder da ANP esteve cerca de 20 minutos num encontro privado com o Papa e te depois uma audi\u00eancia com delega\u00e7\u00e3o palestiniana com o Secret\u00e1rio de Estado do Vaticano, o Cardeal Angelo Sodano.
