O Papa assegura partilhar a dor das v\u00edtimas num telegrama enviado ao Arcebispo da capital inglesa, Cardeal Murphy O’Connor. Uma s\u00e9rie de explos\u00f5es atingiram hoje, \u00e0 hora de ponta, pelo menos tr\u00eas autocarros e seis esta\u00e7\u00f5es do metropolitano de Londres causaram centenas de feridos e um n\u00famero ainda indeterminado de mortos. \u201cProfundamente entristecido pelas not\u00edcias de ataques terroristas no centro de Londres, o Santo Padre oferece fervorosas ora\u00e7\u00f5es pelas v\u00edtimas e por todos os que as choram”, refere o telegrama enviado, em nome de Bento XVI, pelo Cardeal Angelo Sodano, Secret\u00e1rio de Estado do Vaticano. \u201cDeplorando estes actos b\u00e1rbaros contra a humanidade, o Papa pede-vos que exprima \u00e0s fam\u00edlias das v\u00edtimas a sua proximidade espiritual nesta hora de dor.
