Jos\u00e9 Ram\u00f3n Torremocha O espanhol Jos\u00e9 Ram\u00f3n D\u00edaz-Torremocha, actual presidente do Conselho Geral Internacional da Sociedade de S\u00e3o Vicente de Paulo (SSVP), foi reeleito para a fun\u00e7\u00e3o. Torremocha nasceu no dia 9 de novembro de 1946. Casado, t\u00eam tr\u00eas filhos. Vicentino h\u00e1 41 anos, ingressou na Confer\u00eancia San Lorenzo de Madrid, em 1964. Ocupou diversos cargos na SSVP da Espanha, tendo sido o oitavo presidente nacional eleito para dois mandatos. A partir de setembro 1999, assume a Presid\u00eancia Geral do Conselho Geral Internacional da SSVP. Nas prioridades anunciadas para o segundo mandato, est\u00e1 a implementa\u00e7\u00e3o de todas as decis\u00f5es trazidas pelo Plano Estrat\u00e9gico Internacional, aprovadas na Assembleia Geral Internacional da SSVP, que aconteceu em Salamanca. Torremocha tamb\u00e9m pretende completar a transfer\u00eancia da Sede Social em Paris, continuar a pesquisa e o aprofundamento na base doutrinal e espiritual da SSVP. A Sociedade de S\u00e3o Vicente de Paulo est\u00e1 presente em 139 pa\u00edses com cerca de 700 mil membros, dedica-se ao servi\u00e7o dos pobres e foi fundada em Paris, em 1833, pelo advogado franc\u00eas Frederico Ozanam, sob a invoca\u00e7\u00e3o do Patrono da Caridade, S\u00e3o Vicente de Paulo.
